Stirling Foodbank support

Stirling, UK

The organisation's purposes are: 4.1 the relief of those in need by reason of age, ill health , disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage 4.2 the prevention or relief of poverty primarily through the provision of funds and services that will alleviate those disadvantages both within scotland and abroad. One of our main focuses this year has been encouraging young volunteers to participate in our charitable activities. We organised several events, including food and clothing dispensing to those in need, in collaboration with the Kindness Group. Our dedicated volunteers, along with the support of organizations like EMWC, made a significant difference in the lives of many individuals. I would like to congratulate Laura McSorley, who was recognized as Woman of the Year for her relentless work and kindness. Additionally, we extended our support internationally through the Ukraine Appeal. Working closely with organisations such as HStar Charities and the Salvation Army, we collected donations to provide assistance to those affected by the crisis in Ukraine. I am grateful to all the donors and volunteers who contributed to this cause. In March 2022, we celebrated a significant milestone by completing our 1000th food pickup for food banks. This achievement was made possible through the relentless efforts of our volunteers and the support of Tesco's in Cumbernauld. We have also been actively supporting various initiatives, including the Empower Women for Change program and providing assistance to high-rise flats in Glasgow. Recognizing the importance of International Women's Day, we organized an event that brought together various organizations and speakers to empower and celebrate women. The success of this event was made possible by the collaboration of Stirling Aid, CESREC, Al Massar team, and many others. In June 2022, we reached a remarkable milestone of picking up and redistributing 100,000 kg of food to those in need. Our partnership with the Kindness Group and Empower Women for Change has expanded further, with the addition of the Destiny Community shop in Glasgow's Gorbals area. We express our gratitude to Tesco's customer services teams, particularly Andrea and Marianne, for their exceptional support during emergency situations. Continuing our commitment to provide aid to those in need, we partnered with Global Relief Trust (GRT) to support the flood victims in Pakistan. Following our successful efforts in Bangladesh, we have initiated a duplicate operation for relief in Pakistan. I invite you all to join our fundraiser to further assist these victims. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to our shareholders, donors, and dedicated volunteers for their continuous support and contributions. Together, we have delivered over 400,000 meals worth of foods to Scotland’s Foodbanks and made a significant positive impact in the lives of many individuals and communities.
