Sainsbury's Larbert Kinnaird Village Local

We are a local authority nursery who offer a service for children aged 2-5 in the Langlees area in Falkirk Council. We have 30, 2’s places and 80 3-5 spaces. We are in one of the most deprived areas in Falkirk, as such we see a lot of families who are experiencing difficulties relating to food insecurity and poverty. We would love to work together with our local community to support our children and families in need. We have set up a small food bank to support the children and families in our community, We are keen to link in with surplus food donations to support the community of Langlees together? We would be so grateful to receive any foodbank, toiletry and related surplus item donations you may have. We have also started a weekly cooking programme to offer families support in cooking on a budget and building confidence in cooking skills. Helping to upskill families to cook healthy meals and save money.

KLSB Community Pantry was set up in early 2019 to help tackle food poverty and waste within the areas of Larbert & Stenhousemuir. We are a nonprofit charitable group that is run by volunteers and we work with other nonprofit groups including Stenhousemuir FC (Warriors in the Community), Salvation Army, Stenhousemuir, local Scout clubs, and both Larbert High & St Mungo`s High as well as our local catchment primary schools. We rely on donations and grants from funding partners which keep the pantry operational. We are based in the heart of our community at 38 King Street, next to Farmfoods. We are currently offering aid to over 60 households per week. KLSB has recently received funding to enable us to create a community kitchen & training hun at our premises at 17 King Street. We will work with Larbert High & NHS Forth Valley where we will offer cookery classes and work placed experience, including barista training.
