2018 marks Aberdeen Cyrenians 50th year, meeting the needs of people who are homeless, at risk of homelessness or affected by homelessness. What started off as a simple soup kitchen now provides a range of support services to over 1,500 people each year. While providing advice, support and information to address root causes and help people to sustain more permanent accommodation, we also ensure that their basic needs are met. We do this in a number of ways which includes providing food parcels and our Street Alternatives service which provides hot meals four times a week. Both of these services rely on donations from individiuals and organisations for fresh and long-life produce. Almost all of the food we have is donated and we simply could not provide the services without support from the local community.

The Catalyst Transform Department is based in Aberdeen that is passionate about providing holistic support for individuals on the edges of mainstream society that have been marginalised, excluded or disadvantaged. Through our various programs we change attitudes, restore hope and dignity, build resilience and make our communities stronger, safer, more inclusive places. During the Covid-19 pandemic we are supporting over 900 people through our food bank and cooked food initiatives throughout Aberdeen and the Shire.

Church of God Mission International (CGMi), Victory Centre, Aberdeen, is committed to supporting the local community through preaching the gospel and its impactful charity initiatives, with a focus on food and clothes distribution, as well as welfare support. The church regularly organizes food drives to assist low-income families, the homeless, and others in need. Through donations from the congregation and partners, they provide food hampers filled with essential items such as rice, canned goods, and fresh produce. This helps address food insecurity for many struggling individuals and families in Aberdeen. In addition, CGMi Victory Centre runs a clothing drive, collecting gently used clothes for both adults and children. These clothes are distributed to those in financial distress, ensuring that people have access to proper clothing, especially during colder seasons. The initiative also helps restore dignity to recipients by providing clean, quality clothing. Beyond material assistance, the church offers welfare support, including financial aid for urgent needs like medical bills, housing support, and school supplies. The church also provides counseling services to address emotional and spiritual challenges, ensuring that individuals receive holistic care. Through these programs, CGMi Victory Centre embodies the core Christian values of compassion and service, making a meaningful difference in the lives of those in need within the Aberdeen community.
