OT Fundraisers CIC started "OT Food Waste Club" June 2022, with 25 members & has now grown with over 450 members. The food club, creates Food parcels for £3.50 which are worth £10 to £15. On average we create 300 food parcels a week, which are collected by the NG15 Hucknall Community from the new OT Thread Shed, Community Hub. We are hoping the project runs for another 2 years, because of the cost of living crisis. There is no sigma against the boxes, basically, its helps the community, try things at a cheaper price, fills fridges & freezers & helps with cost of living. All funds go towards projects in NG15. In school holidays, we make over 1000 packed lunches. We have had over 10 Free Family Fun Days, were kids & adults come & engage. We have DJ, Face painting, crafts & activities. We also hold on a regular basis, Police Surgeries, Futures (Career advice) & New Changes (Womens Charity) to come & offer support to the community.

Bulwell Forest Garden is a 2.7 acre site owned by Nottingham City Council with whom Bulwell Forest Garden entered into a twenty year lease commencing 2012. The site includes a community woodland and orchard, vegetable growing beds, ornamental borders, a sensory garden, wildlife pond, medicinal garden and a wildflower meadows. Facilities include a poly tunnel, composting toilet, outdoor kitchen with community cob oven, office and storage. As a result of the cost of living crisis and COVID-19, Bulwell is experiencing extremely high levels of poverty, mental health issues and physical health problems. Through working in partnership with Bulwell Foodbank, social prescribers, housing providers and adult services, we enable people to have some control over their own solutions. To achieve this, we deliver a wide range of regular activities take place at the garden including: Garden and conservation volunteering sessions (4 days/week) Weekly Lunch Club (including active engagement in growing, harvesting and cooking produce). Grow, Cook and Play, Family activity days during school holidays. Community events (eg Harvest Festival and Community Picnics). Educational Workshops (from growing own produce, composting, environmental sustainability to willow weaving and “green” craft activities). Music in Nature toddler session (1 day/week) Wildhearts Forest School (1 day/week) for 6-11 year olds experiencing, or at risk of experiencing, social, emotional and educational challenges. Saplings Eco Club (1 day/week) for 11-15 year olds, including conservation, gardening, nature based crafts and helping with family events and fundraising Use of garden by local community groups. Primary school visits. The Big Friendly Wildlife Project (2 day/month) Outdoor yoga and pilates (2 days/week)

At Mount Zion 7th Day Church of God we help stop food going to waste and give it to those who are in need, supporting the homeless and vulnerable people. We welcome anyone, families, elderly, single people who are in need to use our food bank,there is no charge. Serving our local community is our passion. Our food bank is open Saturday mornings at our church premises in Bulwell. Opening times: 10.30am - 1pm
