Edwalton Food Hub CIC is a not-for-profit, community-led organisation providing free access to surplus food for the benefit of the local community. Surplus food received via Neighbourly is redistributed directly to individuals and households experiencing food insecurity. All food is provided for community support purposes only and is not sold or used for commercial gain. Distribution takes place through our food hub in a safe, inclusive, and dignified environment. Our service operates on a no-referral, no-eligibility and no-judgement basis. Access to food is never conditional, restricted, or dependent on payment, contribution, or participation of any kind. No individual is ever refused food due to an inability or decision not to contribute. From time to time, individuals may choose to make a voluntary donation to support the ongoing running of the organisation. Donations are entirely optional, unsolicited, and separate from food access. Any donations received are used solely to support the charitable objectives of Edwalton Food Hub CIC, including transport, storage, utilities, and maintaining daily operations. All activities are carried out in line with our community interest objectives, food safety requirements, and relevant regulations. Our purpose is to reduce food waste, support people facing food insecurity, and strengthen community resilience in a transparent and responsible manner

The Ark comes under the umbrella of The Congregation Of Yahweh and is a community hub for running social events and activities for the community. We also have rooms to hire for training, exercise classes, celebrations etc. There is kitchen facilities for hire should it be requested. We are committed to providing free wholesome home cooked food for a cross range of families, the elderly, the vulnerable, students and single people regardless of gender, ethnicity and age. We aim to provide community based projects to enable the elderly to engage together meeting their needs for social & personal interaction, in turn hoping to stem the gap of social isolation. At the beginning of this current pandemic we saw the need to provide food, toiletries and home essential parcels to assist all those who were on furlough and/or were struggling financially. We have delivered a meal service to people currently on our books & those that are referred to us from external sources. Whatever we receive from Aldi will most definitely be put to good use in our food parcels, which is a much needed service and one we are hoping to continue long after the disappearance of the pandemic. Our main focus is reaching into the community and meeting their current need and offering hope.
