We are an independent food bank that rely on public donations,fund raising and other sources of surplus food. We then make up food parcels of a mixture of surplus and fresh Long life items for our clients. We offer a collection or delivery service 7 days a week. As with all organisations and charities the demand is becoming greater so we are very big on zero waste when it can be used.

At Nottingham University Samworth Academy (NUSA), we are committed to supporting our students beyond the classroom. Many of the young people we work with face significant challenges, including poverty, food insecurity, and family hardship. As the Youth Outreach Lead, my role is to engage and support our most vulnerable students—those at risk of disengaging from education due to the daily struggles they face. One of our key initiatives is the Breakfast Club, which provides a free, nutritious meal at the start of the school day. For many students, this is the only reliable meal they receive. A simple breakfast makes a huge difference—it improves attendance, boosts concentration, and helps students feel cared for and ready to learn. We see first-hand how food insecurity impacts a child’s ability to thrive. That’s why our Breakfast Club is more than just a meal—it’s a vital wellbeing support, a chance to connect, and a way to start the day with dignity. To keep this running, we rely on community support. We are currently in need of donations such as cereal, long-life milk, tinned fruit, protein (like tuna or beans), snacks, and toiletries. Financial contributions are also hugely appreciated, helping us to ensure no child goes hungry at school. Hope Nottingham is a Christian charity which enables churches of all denominations to work together with each other and with other community groups of any or faith or none for the benefit of those in greatest need in local communities all round Nottingham. Our aims go beyond meeting immediate needs, as we want to enable people to support themselves and reach a point where they are then able to help themselves. The main projects Hope Nottingham manages include Hope House in Beeston - a one-stop community support centre for people of all ages, plus 14 other smaller centres, some of which are now developing in the same holistic way as Hope House. Hope House in Beeston is first and foremost a welcoming and supportive community. This environment builds trust with visitors who are then much more willing and able to engage with support to make progress. Support is all-encompassing and includes a foodbank, advice and guidance provided by external agencies, health support, employment training and mentoring. Interrelated projects in the centre include Hope Cafe, a one-stop support cafe, a youth project, Friendship Group for elderly people, social enterprise groups and community allotment project.
