We are setting up a cost of living hub at the centre to run throughout the year. This will take place once a week aimed at members of the community who are in need of financial support. We anticipate 20 local residents to attend on a weekly basis. They will receive a free meal, cost of living activity (eg budgeting advice, cookery workshops) and also we give them access to the surplus supermarket food donations through yourself to take away with them.. We would not be charging for the food and would collect donations each week ourselves via our staff in time to distribute at the cost of living hub each Tuesday.

The Cubbington youth club has recently launched in Cubbington at the start of April 2024. This has been a success to have 60 young people attending, every Friday night between 6.30pm until 8.30pm for children aged 11 to 14 years old. We do different activity's each week and this has included keeping safe talks from local PCSO, Dance lessons, football, basket ball and rounders. We want to give local young people the opportunity to attend a youth club that parents don't have to worry about paying, Due to cost of living and provide them with a snack and drink. Also with help we do a weekly cooking activity with them so they are able to take food home or eat the the centre. we have a 1 year funding secured from Warwickshire county councils youth club fund which pays for the centre and a contribution to 2 staff members and the other workers do this voluntary. Our mission is to give every young person the opportunity to thrive in a safe place, have the freedom to express themselves and break down social and financial barriers.

Our Community Pantry aims to provide a medium to long-term solution to help individuals and families facing food insecurity. We’ll assist people to engage with services that resolve the underlying causes of their individual situations. We operate our pantry at the Pound Lane Learning Centre, Lillington, and are open to our members every Thursday and Friday 11am-3pm except for Good Friday and the week between Christmas and New Year. We hold events throughout the year for our members and have activities during the school holidays that can be accessed for free We provide food for a small membership fee of £5 each time the Pantry is accessed. Our members are invited to shop once per week and as part of that shop they are provided with around £25-£30 worth of food. We aim to provide food from across all food groups including a wide selection of store cupboard essentials, chilled, frozen and fresh fruit & vegetables, we try to encourage members to make healthy choices We also provide wrap around support to our members. We have Citizens Advice advisors onsite with us when we are open and also have support from Family information service and housing housing advice available on site, we are also able to link our members to other support services available in the local area. We have a cafe area where we provide drinks and snacks free of charge to our members, we are expanding this over the winter months to provide a limited range of hot food at lunch time. We source food through fareshare and we have a budget to purchase some food, we would like to supplement our offer through distributing surplus food from local retailers. Where we receive donations of short dated products or items past their best before date members are able to take them for free to increase the value of the food they are collecting from us. Surplus food donations through neighbourly would help us to increase the amount of food we are giving to our members reducing the pressure on their budget for their food shop. A small selection of cleaning products and toiletries are also available for a small additional charge Referral to a Community Pantry can be made by the individual in need or through Doctors and Medical Clinics, Social Services, Welfare Teams in Schools or Advice Services. At the Community Pantry we will carry out an initial assessment to help identify a broad range of holistic support available. Our initial membership period is for 6 months during which time we work with our members to try to resolve the issues they are facing that meant they needed support with food. The Community Pantry is a collaborative project between Feed The Hungry UK and Warwickshire County Council.
