The Real Junk Food Project Twickenham collects surplus food from local shops destined for landfill, and with the help of its volunteers, turns it into delicious, healthy meals for all of the community on a 'Pay As You Feel' basis. Please come along and join us, bring your family, friends or yourself for good food, good company and a good cause (remember to bring a bag so you can take some goodies home, we always have a good selection of breads and sweet treats and various fruit & veg) Our aim is to FEED BELLIES NOT BINS We are open every Monday, Wednesday and Friday 11am-1pm (excluding bank holidays) Also if you are looking for a lovely project to be involved in please feel free to contact us as we always have room for new volunteers and their individual skills.

We offer a morning drop-in Monday - Friday, 9am - 11am, providing casework, a hot breakfast, surplus food, clothing, showers, nursing, telephone, internet and postal services, tea and coffee and connection to a supportive community. All our services are complimentary. We are also a hub for other outreach services who we work closely with, e.g. Glassdoor, St Mungo's, Salvation Army Employment Service, RCDAS (Richmond Community Drug and Alcohol Service), Spear Homeless Charity. Our charity shop sells affordable clothing and bric-a-brac and supports vulnerable guests with free clothing and items for setting up a new home. All profits are used for the benefit of our charitable work. The Richmond Foodbank provides emergency food for local people in crisis. It also operates at other locations across the borough. We work with local referral partners who assess people's needs and issue free vouchers to use at our foodbank. We also host other groups and services in the afternoons such as Citizens Advice, Mind Craft Group, Ukrainian Support Group and a Women's Hub.

British Heart Foundation (BHF) is a UK-based charity dedicated to funding research into heart and circulatory diseases, including conditions like heart disease, stroke, vascular dementia, and diabetes. Founded in 1961, the BHF supports scientific research, public health education, and life-saving care initiatives. The charity also runs a network of shops selling donated items to raise funds. Its mission is to beat heartbreak forever by improving prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cardiovascular conditions. The British Heart Foundation (BHF) Twickenham shop operates from a centrally located retail premises on King Street Twickenham, serving as a vital part of the local high street community. Our shop offers a wide selection of donated goods including clothing, books, homeware, and electrical items, with all proceeds supporting life-saving cardiovascular research and patient care across the UK. Our primary service users are customers and supporters who shop, donate items, or volunteer with us. We also serve individuals looking for affordable, high-quality goods, particularly those affected by the cost of living. We identify their needs through daily engagement in-store, feedback, and through our volunteer network, which keeps us connected to the local community. Beyond retail, we provide opportunities for volunteering and skill-building for people from all walks of life, including students, jobseekers, and retirees. These roles help build confidence, retail experience, and a sense of community. While we don’t provide direct food support, we regularly collaborate with local organisations and community groups where needed. There is no charge for the services we provide—volunteering, donating, and community involvement are all free to participate in. Items sold in-store are reasonably priced to ensure accessibility for all. We do not currently collect surplus food, as our focus is on donated goods. However, we support sustainability and waste reduction through the reuse and recycling of donated items. Our shop has been involved in various community projects and events, and we have received recognition in local newsletters and social media for our fundraising and outreach efforts. We are proud to be seen as a friendly and welcoming presence in Twickenham.
