FoodCycle exists to relieve food poverty, rescue food from going to waste, and reduce social isolation by providing a welcoming and friendly environment where people in the local community come together to eat a healthy, nutritious, vegetarian three-course meal. FoodCycle Lewisham is a project, managed by Lewisham Local, which began in 2016. Open to everyone in the local community, FoodCycle Lewisham particularly supports people experiencing food injustice including those in temporary accommodation, older people who are living on their own, people with physical disabilities, those with long-term health conditions or experiencing poor mental health. The meal is located in the Rushey Green Ward of Catford, which is one of the most deprived wards in Lewisham. In 2023, FoodCycle Lewisham saved 5720kgs of food from going to landfill and served 3540 meals by using food that would otherwise go to landfill but is still fit for human consumption. We welcome an average of 80 guests through our doors every Saturday and on average 40 guests every Wednesday. However, eating together is about more than saving food. Shared mealtimes are social activities that deliver health and environmental benefits. 69% of our guests tell us that they feel less lonely, 77% say that the meal makes them feel happier and 88% say that they have a new reason to leave the house. Our guests also tell us: 'FoodCycle has proved to be valuable to a lot of people. You can make new friends and have someone to talk to. It helps relieve the loneliness. The standard of food provided is really good and proves that you can make a little from a lot.' Many more of our guests say that they now eat more fruit and vegetables, try food that they haven't eaten before, and that FoodCycle Lewisham has helped them to learn what foods support their health: 'It's good because it encourages us to eat what we should be eating.' CC Foundation is a charity dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families in need by addressing issues of food insecurity, employability, education, and housing stability. One of the foundation’s key programs is its food bank, which provides essential food to low-income families, ensuring they have access to nutritious meals. This initiative helps combat hunger and food poverty, which are critical issues in many communities. In addition to addressing food insecurity, CC Foundation focuses on employability by offering job training programs and career counselling services. These programs aim to empower individuals with the skills and knowledge needed to secure stable employment, reducing their risk of long-term poverty. Education is another pillar of our foundation's mission. Through various educational initiatives, including tutoring, and literacy programs, CC Foundation ensures that individuals of all ages have access to quality education, which is key to breaking the cycle of poverty. Every year, the foundation organizes a Turkey Drive during the Christmas season, providing families with the means to enjoy a hearty festive meal. This drive helps foster a sense of community and ensures that even during difficult times, families can celebrate together. Finally, CC Foundation works to prevent homelessness by offering emergency housing assistance and support services to those at risk. By tackling food insecurity, unemployment, and lack of education, the foundation helps prevent poverty and homelessness, creating a pathway toward a more stable and secure future for all.

Pathwaze provides Supported Accommodation to vulnerable men aged 18+ across South London. Since our inception in February 2016, we have successfully worked with many organisations such as Local Authorities, St Mungos, P2P, New Horizons, Community Links, Big Issue Foundation, Home Office and the National Probation Service. We diligently work towards our mission with the aim to transform lives and empower vulnerable men, helping them to re-engage and become effective members of the community. We work in partnership with our service users to encourage and assist the choices they make by empowering them to find the right path for their lives. We provide accommodation and support to men aged 18+ dealing with a range of issues including_ street homelessness, mental health, drugs and alcohol, bereavement, educational and employment support. Food Surplus will be given to our Service Users free of charge from our offices and delivered to those unable to get to our office. We work with Liberty Church delivering our Winter Out Reach Program providing food and blankets to the public . We collaborate with ISBC and Brixton Soup Kitchen helping us to provide much-needed support to our Service Users. Our Support Service is funded by private donations and grants.
