Janies Kitchen foodhub will provide the community of Surrey young and old with surplus Food kindly donated by Supermarkets We operate from a fully equipped address with dedicated extra storage space for both chilled frozen and ambient foods We are a community hub since Feb 2025 and we identify those in need from our local community using contacts who work in the volunteer sector. We have both multiple generational households and those who have larger families. Many people are uncomfortable going to a large foodbank so we aim to provide something more personal with no judgement of circumstances We already have a whatsapp and email list pf families waiting and you can see all of our amazing donations from our supermarket partners on our x page In the coming months we want tp grow find a website deisgner who is able to donate time to build a site and we already have a twitter page which you can see below. We would also like some branding as well but dio not have any funds at present. We do not make and do not want to make charges for food. We also want to try and signpost people to any other services we feel may be of help to them. Every food hub has to start somewhere. Access & Charges: • All Communities First services are free of charge. Community Engagement & Impact: • Press coverage, social media, and reports such as the Communities First Impact Report showcase our work. • Activities promote physical activity, well-being, social inclusion, and a sense of purpose and belonging. Food Surplus Programme: • Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate holders and Food Safety Agency ‘5’ rating. • Surplus food is distributed to families and community members in need, reducing waste and supporting nutrition.

we are a social supermarket offering families who are finding things hard at the moment, £20-30 worth of fresh, chilled, frozen and tinned food. Alongside this we offer an extensive choice of support from experts and charities. those who can afford to, are asked to pay a membership fee of £3.50 each week, this isn't to pay for the food but to contribute to some of the other costs of the project. People are never turned away and if someone is unable to pay, they are always given food and access to the amazing array of support services that are on offerto everyone who comes to one of our sessions. Our strap line is that we are 'a hand up, not a hand out' and our aim is to restore the dignity that poverty so often strips from people by seeing them as individual human beings and offer them the dignity of choice, particularly in the food that they take. Our support team are amazing at what they do and have seen many people get to the point where they no longer need the services of Food Stop as they have either cleared debt, discovered benefits they didn't know they were entitled to or moved into full time employment. Our regualar Jobs Fairs have seen over 80 people find emplyment in the last year alone.
