Carpenters Café, started by some residents of Carpenters Estate and Trinity Chapel London. The project opened on 5th June 2007 initially as a feeding project targeting the homeless. However over the years, as a result of the current economic climate, we now support a wide variety of groups which include anyone needing a helping hand. We also receive and send referrals to other organizations to provide support. Carpenters Café main objectives are:- • To provide a dinning place that is warm, clean and friendly where people can come and sit, make friends and share a meal • To give free of charge, hot or cold drinks, sandwiches, fruit and vegetables and food packs subject to availability. • To share out household items, clothing, footwear, books, etc that have been donated to Carpenters Café for the benefit of the needy. • To offer support and encouragement with access to computer facilities for job search and basic IT training. • Volunteering services include distribution of advice and information leaflets on healthy eating and lifestyle, a foot pampering session on the last Tuesday of every month and art classes every other Tuesday. The service is delivered by a strong team of volunteers who are reliable and supportive of the charitable aims of the organisation and who share a desire to offer help and assistance to people. A charity helping the community for over 13 years. Making a difference for those with No Recourse to Public Funds forgotten in a broken system. The charity is currently providing food support to over a thousand individuals and families per week.

Community Food Enterprise Limited (CFE) is an award winning social enterprise food business which is rooted in East London and was founded in 2002 by members of the community. Our mission is to work in partnership with the diverse communities of London, and nationally with those of similar needs, to safeguard and sustain the right of our community in all its diversity to access the right food at an affordable price as a fundamental condition for individual and community health and well-being. CFE is looking to put in a bid to Power to Change for a project titled Collective Purchasing Initiative (CPI). Collective Purchasing Initiative – Sustaining England’s Community Food Projects (CFPs) aims to bring Community Food Projects (CFP) throughout England together as a collective, and use our combined buying power to purchase fresh fruit & vegetables in bulk direct from Farmers and Farmer cooperatives. CFE carried out a pilot project in London between March 2014 and January 2015, although it was highly successful we could not continue as our funding had ended. We are looking to roll out the CPI across South East England and have new partners on board.
