Life changing international Ministry is a church . Our motto is to change life through the teachings of Jesus Christ and by leading by example . Every week people from all works of life meeting to worship praise and learn the scriptures .. Due to incredible economic pressures We recently started a foodbank for our congregation . We have being inspected by Lewisham Council and we have a 4 STAR Rating . We now want to expand to cover our community . Hence this application . We currently do foodbank a on Tuesdays Fridays and Sundays . 1. Currently, the food that we receive from retailers (Asda, Waitrose, KFC, and Tesco via Fareshare and Felix project) are only distributed to the church members. But our plan eventually is to also distribute food to the people in and around Lewisham borough. 2. Once people enter the ministry (with their permission,) we collect data such as name, contact details, age and employment status 3. We prioritise food for church members who are (a) unemployed (b) on low income, and the elderly.  4. In addition to ordering food support, we also offer free spiritual counselling to church members. - we do not charge for our services 5. We do not currently collect surplus food from any other retailers 6. At the moment our services are not advertised in the local community, but we plan to do so, once we have extended our services to the local community. 7. I have been working in the community for about 13-14 years now in various capacities; writing and delivering programmes, mentoring as well as education consultation. Since the turn of the year, I have been community with hostel managers, youth practitioners, staff members, key workers and owner and director to some of the buildings, HMO's and various other premises about how the cost of living as effected a lot of young people living in these hostel and units. Subsequently, I decided to go around to several food banks and any organisation within the community that can provide food to young people in hostels. Aftet collecting as much food as I could. I packed as many rate and oxes equally and then began to deliver the community those in need. I started of by j delivering to about 5-7 young people now the database as grown to about 30-40 request each week. As a result, I was advised by my local authorities to go and set up a charity as I now deliver to not just young people hostels but (mother and bay units, ex-offenders, substance abuse an d anyone that cannot travel due to various reasons or disabilities) . Surprisingly, our database grows each week resulted in meeting with the trusties to the charity to ensure that all tmwe are doing is official. know what as made what we plan to continue to do so successful so far is the fact that I am able to deliver to food parcel to the people that cant travel for whatever reasons or people with disabilities. I also collect reduce food products from supermarkets and superstores 3-4 nights a week and share them between two hostels each night throughout the week. We will be apply for small charity grants in the future from some local authorities and other organisation that fund small charity just for support on thing like hopefully a larger storage, things that are in demand that are not donated to us such as (nappies and pampers), toiletries a bigger freezer and (electric and fuel). I have recieved such a positive feedback from managers, staffs, social workers key workers and owner and directors about the services and providing being able to bring the food parcels to individuals and to each hostels, mother and baby units, hmo's, ex-offenders hostels, substance abuse premises and to anyone in the community that made a request that cannot travel due to various reasons or disabilities, hence why the demand is growing each week. I know our charity as the right intention to continue serve the community and I think the services we provide the young people, and adults in these various settings is very much need by the feedback and the rapidly growing database of people requested food parcels deliveries. Our charity are dedicated to achieving our aims and objective to serve the community and wider community because we believe "we are the people we are help". CGL stands for Change Grow Live, a UK-based charity that provides free and confidential services to help people make positive changes in their lives, particularly those struggling with drugs, alcohol, or other challenges. We work closely with those in the criminal justice system, those who are rough sleeping and we work a lot on outreach. Our mission is to help people change the direction of their lives, grow as individuals, and live life to its full potential.
