Together In Westminster Community is a community-led organisation dedicated to empowering families, women, and young people through cultural, educational, and wellbeing programmes. We provide a safe, inclusive space for learning, support, and community connection, especially for refugees, migrants, and low-income families in Westminster and surrounding areas. Our centre includes a multi-purpose community hall, meeting and classroom spaces, and a small kitchen where we prepare and distribute food to families and individuals in need. We identify service users through a combination of: Community outreach, Referrals from local Cllrs, faith organisations, and Westminster City Council departments, Direct engagement with families already attending our centre,Ongoing needs assessments via one-to-one conversations. All our services, including food support, are provided entirely free of charge to individuals and families facing hardship. We are committed to removing barriers and supporting our community without creating additional financial pressure. we provide: Free Arabic language classes for refugee and migrant women, Wellbeing and creative workshops for women and families, Signposting and support for housing, education, and employment, Youth engagement, volunteering and leadership programmes, Interfaith and cultural events to build community cohesion, Support with digital inclusion and school applications All services are provided with a focus on dignity, accessibility, and cultural sensitivity. At present, we do not collect surplus food from any retailers. We currently rely on small-scale donations from individuals in the community, including families who want to give back and occasional support from local well-wishers. Our service focuses on helping those who find themselves rough sleeping on the streets of Westminster. We ensure there is a rapid response to rough sleeping, working to understand any support needs and link individuals in with services and find the best move-on options possible. We aim to offer people help so that they do not need to return to the streets; for many this will be returning to their home area, reconnecting with family and support networks. Due to budget constraints, our project does not have a catering contract to provide meals. Being able to receive the generosity of any who can spare food would be so helpful to our clients who have very little to no money, with hunger or uncertainty of meals being potentially so damaging to their well-being and recovery. We would be so grateful to any who could spare food donations and it would be invaluable to assisting us in the work we do.

The Dalgarno food bank is a weekly food distribution service providing both perishable and non-perishable foods for the local community. The service is free, but clients are asked to make a small donation for what they receive. Every small amount contributes to the successful running of the service. The food bank is for anyone who may be unemployed, receiving low income, or are struggling to cope with household bills. However, people need not restrict themselves to these reasons to use the food bank. If you would like to give food or any other donations to our food bank - donations are always well received and appreciated. Key details about the service are as follow: Tickets are given out in the reception area of the centre from 10am. The food bank distribution starts at 2pm. To keep the service Covid secure, food bank users do not enter the building, but volunteers bag up the food they have requested. Most people leave the food bank with two full plastic bags.
