Foodsave Honiton is a is community food parcel service and community fridge covering Honiton and the surrounding areas in East Devon. We work to ensure no useable food is put to waste within our local community, ensuring that those around us receive high-quality, free food without the stigma of referrals, quotas or financial questionnaires. Since opening in November 2020, we have grown to support approximately 300 households across the town every week. We operate as a branch of Foodsave CIC, a not-for-profit food redistribution service operating community food parcel services, community larders and community fridges and freezers across the South West. Foodsave is one of the largest redistributors of surplus food outside of major cities in the South West, facilitating communities to create food waste reduction schemes tailored to their communities. We are a group of volunteers who distribute surplus food that supermarkets cannot sell to people in Crewkerne. We distribute food from Open Doors Hub, 2 West St Crewkerne TA18 8AX on: - Mondays 9.30-3pm - Tuesdays 9.30-3pm - Thursdays 9.30-3pm We currently get the majority of our food and hygiene products from Waitrose and Lidl in Crewkerne, and surplus food from Sainsbury's in Chard, Somerset. We run a Repair Hub fortnightly on a saturday morning 'Souper Bowl' a warm winter food session on a thursday lunchtime. Our activities are open for all residents and we work with local partners to ensure we reach those most in need.

Non-perishable foods are are collected from customer donation bins in Lidle, Pound stretcher, Sainsbury's & Tesco. Foods are also donated by local churches, schools and businesses. We offer bags of non-perishable food to All. Referrals come from a wide range of support agencies . We encourage people to come direct to us if they are in need and not sure how to proceed.
