How it works

Here's how businesses create local impact through Neighbourly.

Through Neighbourly, Sainsbury's has donated surplus food, money and products, turning business resources into meaningful community impact.

  1. 1

    A business gives

Through Neighbourly, businesses donate resources to local good causes.

  2. 2

A local good cause puts it to use

Support goes directly to charities and community organisations, helping them free up time and resources to focus on what matters most.

  3. 3

People get the support they need

Whether it's a hot meal, essential products, a safe place to meet or someone to talk to, support reaches people in ways that make a real difference.

  4. 4

    Every contribution counts

Together, these contributions create real, measurable impact in local communities. That's social value in action.

YMCA Andover

Andover, UK

The YMCA nursery and community centre has been in Andover since 2018. Although we are predominately a nursery we also have a community centre space. The community space has been used to run different classes to support the local community and the wider town. Since the pandemic and the community centre having to close to the public, we have looked at other ways to support the community. It became apparent that the way we could help is to support the community with essential food parcels. This originally started with small donations from our local Coop and the community but has grown in size. We have so far supported at least 70 families within the Andover area. We are looking at getting other companies on board to help us to support these vulnerable families and individuals. With more donations we will be able to help more people who are in need during these difficult times.
