Love Haslemere Hate Waste is our campaign to inspire and empower everyone in Haslemere to cut down waste. We exist to make waste-free living the norm and our ambition is to create a blueprint for other towns to follow suit. We've already made strides in cutting down on plastic, redistributing surplus food, running the Repair Cafe and providing a Library of Things for everyone in Haslemere. Help us drive change faster and cut down waste across our town.

Alton Community Cupboard is a community project set up to reduce waste. Local volunteers collect surplus food (and other surplus goods) from supermarkets, allotments and peoples' fridges and make it available to anyone and everyone from the local area. Alton Community Cupboard does not charge for the food and surplus goods that we distribute but small voluntary donations of £2 are accepted for higher value items to contribute to running costs. Alton Community Cupboard makes the food and surplus goods available to anyone in the community that can benefit from these. The shop opens 6 days per week and there are a core of customers who attend every week or more frequently as well as others who attend from time to time. The Hale Community Centre is a community resource that provides a range of services, Including a Community Fridge & Cupboard. We aim to re-distribute unwanted edible food from local businesses and individual households, which can then be taken by anyone who wants to get involved with the project. This prevents the food going to waste and into landfill. We would like to become a part of the community and bring people together, whilst looking after our environment.
