Sainsbury's Alton

Alton Community Cupboard is a community project set up to reduce waste. Local volunteers collect surplus food (and other surplus goods) from supermarkets, allotments and peoples' fridges and make it available to anyone and everyone from the local area. Alton Community Cupboard does not charge for the food and surplus goods that we distribute but small voluntary donations of £2 are accepted for higher value items to contribute to running costs. Alton Community Cupboard makes the food and surplus goods available to anyone in the community that can benefit from these. The shop opens 6 days per week and there are a core of customers who attend every week or more frequently as well as others who attend from time to time. St. Michael’s Hospice is an adult hospice, supporting people across North Hampshire who have a life-limiting illness, are facing the end of life or experiencing bereavement. Our dedicated team of nurses, doctors, and therapists deliver free, high-quality, compassionate end-of-life care and support to patients, their families and carers. We offer a range of services that help patients, and their families focus on living rather than dying. We receive only 22% statutory funding and so need to raise £14,500 per day to continue providing vital care to the North Hampshire community. With your help, the Hospice can continue to provide the best professional care for our patients and families at a time when it is truly needed, and for that, we thank you.
