How it works

Here's how businesses create local impact through Neighbourly.

Through Neighbourly, Sainsbury's has donated surplus food, money and products, turning business resources into meaningful community impact.

  1. 1

    A business gives

Through Neighbourly, businesses donate resources to local good causes.

  2. 2

A local good cause puts it to use

Support goes directly to charities and community organisations, helping them free up time and resources to focus on what matters most.

  3. 3

People get the support they need

Whether it's a hot meal, essential products, a safe place to meet or someone to talk to, support reaches people in ways that make a real difference.

  4. 4

    Every contribution counts

Together, these contributions create real, measurable impact in local communities. That's social value in action.

The New Bees Community Team

Swansea, UK

At new Bees community Team our mission is to unite communities through compassionate fundraising and food sharing initiatives. Our goal is to ensure that everyone who comes to us regardless of circumstances has access to nutritious meals. By organising effective fundraising events and establishing a network for food distribution, we strive to make a lasting difference in the lives of those facing food insecurity. Through collaborative efforts and engagement we aim to make a meaningful impact and contribute to the well being of our fellow community members. We operate from the Lodge in Gorseinon SA4 4PE which has a 4 star Hygiene rating. We have access to the kitchens at the Lodge. We will identify service users from the local LAC as well well as our FB Prescence and word of mouth. Other services we will provide are organising events and activities such as coffee mornings, learn to cook sessions, offering support for residents in need, offering a safe warm space within the lodge for people to come and chat and have a hot drink and cake. Supporting local charities through fund raising. Fostering local connections and collaborating with local authorities and organisations for community development initiatives. We will also facilitate opportunities for residents to get involved through community champions within stores such as Asda to do community clean ups and litter picking. We will undertake projects to promote environmental sustainability such as community gardens and recycling programmes. There will be no charge for our service, everything will be provided on a voluntary basis. We do not currently collect surplus food but would like the opportunity to do so.
