How it works

Here's how businesses create local impact through Neighbourly.

Through Neighbourly, Sainsbury's has donated surplus food, money and products, turning business resources into meaningful community impact.

  1. 1

    A business gives

Through Neighbourly, businesses donate resources to local good causes.

  2. 2

A local good cause puts it to use

Support goes directly to charities and community organisations, helping them free up time and resources to focus on what matters most.

  3. 3

People get the support they need

Whether it's a hot meal, essential products, a safe place to meet or someone to talk to, support reaches people in ways that make a real difference.

  4. 4

    Every contribution counts

Together, these contributions create real, measurable impact in local communities. That's social value in action.

Mill Street Hostel

Pontypridd, UK

We are charitable organization that provides temporary accommodation for homeless people or people threatened with homelessness. We provide specialist support 24/7 in a safe and warm environment. Our remit as a Hostel is to provide our service users with a stable base where they can learn new skills that they need to manage a tenancy before moving on to independent living. Prior to coming to our project our service users were presented as homeless and found it difficult to live effectively and resourcefully. Whilst at Mill Street Hostel individuals are supported to learn daily living skills as well as tenancy management skills, so that when the time comes for people to move on they will have all necessary skills to maintain a tenancy of their own and to seek employment.
