Moorlands Youth and Community Centre supports the Youth and Community of Old Goole, Goole and surrounding villages. We provide a safe and secure place for people to discuss, coproduce, and promote activities and services that are important to them. We believe in empowerment and Social Action, listening to needs and desires, and supporting the youth and community to reach aspirational goals. We provide: Youth Provision - supporting young people through prosocial activities Community Welcome Space - supporting the community by providing and coproducing services and activities they need and desire. Lunch Club Pantry Service Donation Support - supporting local stores to reduce waste and the local community through food donation support.

Pocklington Rugby in the Community (PRITC) was established as a registered charity in December 2019 with the ambition of strengthening the community by actively promoting health and well-being whilst enhancing lives for all. Working with and through others, it hopes to develop a Community Hub which uses the great resources of the Pocklington Rugby Union Football Club (PRUFC) whilst supporting the development and increase in activity provision for people of all ages. To secure the future work of the Charity we have agreed and signed a 5 year lease arrangement with PRUFC for the upper floor of the club. With in this area we have funded and developed a permanent home for the The Peoples Pantry. We are also providing office space for the charity, East Riding active towns and hope to house other organisations on an adhoc basis. As part of our core work we have also sought to unite a group of older Pocklington residents who felt lonely and isolated; at the first session we had 20 people attending and we consulted with them about what they would like moving forward. The group said they would like bi weekly lunch and games afternoons. The group expanded over the pandemic and last Christmas we delivered 250 Christmas Lunches to the elder, lonely and vulnerable in the area. We also delivered easter eggs and cards to all these individuals as well a further 2,000 items of chocolate to other groups from Cares Homes, to junior sports teams to the ambulance service. Plans are in place to provide Christmas meals to the group again this year with both group lunches at our premises and home deliveries. We have various strings to our bow including offering our facilities to Pocklington Chronic Fatigue Community who help provide mutual support for those who are affected by Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME), Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), Fibromyalgia and other similar neurological/pituitary illnesses causing fatigue. This support it particularly pertinent, as we are being told that cases of Chronic Fatigue may increase as people recover from Coronavirus. The group meets weekly and has a specialist Yoga instructor who supports people to improve their core strength and flexibility while acting as a mutual support group to improve their health and wellbeing. During the 2020-21 lockdowns the group has continued to offer to support to its members online. This year we have also worked in partnership with Pocklington Town Council, Pocklington Covid 19 Group, Pocklington Arts Centre and the Active Towns team to deliver a Family Fun day at the end of lockdown which was attended by 2,500+ people and also with the groups held a celebration awards evening for local volunteers.
