We are volunteers who run a community garden and have just received a community fridge to help reduce food surplus waste. We would like to be added to the scheme which supplies charities like ours with surplus foods from supermarkets

BFCS is committed to a community built on diversity, tolerance, cooperation, and mutual respect; we want to contribute to society and demonstrate social responsibility. Our values are important to us, and we aim to live them out in all areas of our work. To provide relief to individuals and families in crisis in North Down, through the provision of emergency food supplies. · To provide practical, mental and spiritual support either directly or by referral to approved partner agencies to enable individuals and families to avoid future crises. BFCS is a member of the Trussell Trust network of foodbanks of which there are over 420 across the UK. Our volunteers go to great lengths to protect the dignity of each individual client and ensure that confidentiality is maintained. The volunteer base is made up from a wide cross section of the local community including previous service users and complete a comprehensive training schedule.

We are a group of ordinary people from different backgrounds, life experiences and ages, who have one thing in common – our love for God, what He has done for us through the life, death and resurrection of Jesus, and our desire to share His love with those around us. None of us have life sorted – we’re all ‘works-in-progress’. But we believe that the message of Jesus is Good News for everyone, and the life He offers now and for all eternity gives us hope in this life, through death and forever. We’re seeking to live as Jesus’ disciples – people who are learning to walk in the ways of Jesus, and living this out in our everyday lives.
