Sainsbury's Carrick Fergus

We provide a free debt counselling service for people who are struggling with unmanagable debt. We visit clients in their own homes, which means that our service can be accessed by anyone. We will help anyone regardless of their religious beliefs, age, disability, gender reassignment, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex and sexual orientation. We are based at Greenisland Baptist church and our CAP Centre covers the Greenisland, Carrickfergus and Whitehead area. We currently collect food from M&S, Sainsbury's, Lidl and Tesco. This food is then distributed in hampers to our clients and also at our Community Fridge in the courtyard at Greenisland Baptist church from 10am to 12 noon on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Our service users for Christians Against Poverty (CAP) come through self referal on our freephone number 0800 328 0006. Our community fridge is open to everyone in our community. Our service to both CAP and the community fridge is completely free. We advertise the community fridge every week via our church Facebook page and we advertise the work of cap through local community magazines and local press so that more people are aware of what we do. We also work in partnership with the local Trussell Trust Foodbank in Carrickfergus. We give them lots of referrals of people who need more than we can provide at our community fridge and they also referr people to us who need more support with unmanagable debt issues.

Hope Harbour is a group of volunteers who help Belfast's Homeless in any way we can with your help and support we aim to give them Hope for a better future. We volunteer on a weekly basis cooking hot meals, and gathering donated clothing, toiletries, tents, sleeping bags and other things that those less fortunate, many of whom are living on the streets, need the most to survive in these extremely hard times. The organisation is run by Carla who deals with all aspects of the running of HH and there are other volunteers including myself Stewart, who takes charge of the food and meals. Terence - Clothing and other items. Mel & Audrey also contribute to food and toiletries and pet foods. Brendan who organises our outreach van and distributes to those guys/girls on the street with no hostel or shelter on any evenings.

We are volunteers who run a community garden and have just received a community fridge to help reduce food surplus waste. We would like to be added to the scheme which supplies charities like ours with surplus foods from supermarkets
