A community cupboard based on Muschamp Road, Carshalton… Run by Diana, along with Kerry, Ankit Muschamp Community Cupboard is open 24/7 for all members of the local community to have access to fresh fruit and vegetables, tinned and dried foods, along with sanitary/personal hygiene products. Located outside No 70 Muschamp Road, the cupboard is always accessible (subject to local road restrictions for drivers). Anyone is welcome to receive and donate items to the cupboard, The cupboard is run on an honesty basis, and works on a “Take what you need, Give what you can” methodology. All items available are free of charge and have been donated via local businesses, members of the community or collected from various businesses participating in food waste schemes The Muschamp Community Cupboard team work in close collaboration with Community Champions (www.communitychampions.uk) who support the cupboard with regular donations of non perishable items. Donations are regularly received from various food surplus collections from Waitrose, Pret-a-Manger, Getir and Sainsburys amongst others. The Muschamp team also assist in topping up other local community cupboards enabling food surplus to reach far and wide. Alongside the cupboard, emergency food parcels are also organised on an ad hoc basis - and often include frozen goods saved from supermarket food waste collections.
