Sainsbury's Attleborough

As a community group we provide free food to the local community that are in need. We are not a food bank but a hub to help with food waste and local poverty. We are currently in the process of becoming a CIC so will be registered with companies house. We provide staple foods via donations of food or money to the local community who find themselves in need. We do not discriminate and no one needs a referral or a voucher to come and get food. Over the last 3 years we have built up our name and are constantly helping the local public with food, either xmas food parcels or normal staple food parcels. With this we have opened a food hub in which anyone can come and get staple foods along with bread/fruit/veg and period products nappies and formula. We fund raise along side to help us. We probably help up to 50 families each time the hub is open. We have a few local business that help us with small donations but are in need of more, as we are helping more and more people each time. Especially with the cost of living crisis this hub is also helping local working families that are also struggling to make their money go far enough. At the moment we run via facebook and at the town hall in attleborough but are in process of trying to secure a permanent premisses that we can then be open more often to help more people. During covid we helped local business/care providers raising money for them. We have won a few local awards such as norfolk day heros award 2020 attleborough town community heros award 2023 and came runners up in bbc radio norfolk make a difference awards 2022. We work really hard to help as many people as possible and with neighbourly help we can help so many more. Breckland council currently helping us find a premises. We have a private facebook group and a food hub page

We seek to serve all members of our community and work with all reputable partners to ease hardship, social isolation and food waste in our community. Empanda offers a range of care and support services for vulnerable adults and those who will benefit from receiving outcome-focussed, personalised, holistic support delivered in a way that best suits the needs and expectations of the individual. Our skilled teams of support workers use a range of methods to engage with our service users on a 1:2:1 basis or in groups. Our Young People’s Services (YPS) team understands that individuals who are homeless often have other issues too so we work with them to look at all the areas in their lives that they feel they need help with. This may include debt issues, mental health problems, substance misuse problems, learning difficulties or family/relationship breakdown. ‘Oak Trees’ on the outskirts of Attleborough, was purpose built in 1996 to offer short-term accommodation for up to four adults at a time and over 100 adults each year. We offer a range of stimulating and interesting activities including: - Arts and crafts. - Learning how to cook, plan menus and shop for food. - Learning how to do laundry, ironing and cleaning. - Learning how to manage your money. - Sports, games and accessing local sports facilities like gyms and swimming pools. - Getting involved in the local community and community events.
