Still Good Food aims to reduce the amount of food that is wasted by redistributing surplus food donations, mainly from large and small retailers, through our shops in Bury St Edmunds and Great Barton on a 'pay as you feel' basis. We accept donations from a number of local businesses, farmers and individuals and not only pass it onto our shop customers but also onto a number of local charities and organisations like food banks, community cafes, etc. Although our main aim is to reduce the amount of food that is wasted in the UK we are also very keen to support those on low incomes through providing good quality food at low cost. The project is run almost entirely by volunteers, from those manning the shop to all our collections and deliveries. We are always looking for new volunteers to help us to open more often, for longer hours and to ensure that less and less food is wasted and more and more food is redistributed.

We’re an independent charity working with vulnerable people in East Anglia. We work with local businesses, churches, other charities and relevant statutory authorities. Our services include furniture re-use, a food bank, elderly day services and a Christmas project.

Whether in the UK or overseas, we respond to hundreds of disasters every year. From floods and fires to terrorist attacks, we're among the first to arrive, and we stay long after the crisis is over. When emergencies occur, the Red Cross supports the police, ambulance and fire services, local and health authorities and utility companies. Red Cross and Red Crescent volunteers are usually the first to respond to disasters around the world. Day or night, in an emergency our volunteers are there to help when someone needs it most. We provide support at home, transport and mobility aids to help people when they face a crisis in their daily lives. We help vulnerable communities tackle health issues like HIV, TB and water and sanitation. What's more, we support elderly, socially isolated or otherwise vulnerable people around the world.
