Local group of Involved Tenants working with Newark & Sherwood District Council With the aim of improving Local Services & improving the lifes of people in the Local Communities We are a not-for-profit Community Group and we set up a sub group called Newark Food & Well-being Hub We currently work with Newark & Sherwood District Council to run a weekly food club on a Thursday at Beaumont walk 1 till 3 working together to reduce food waste. We are hoping to provide emergency food parcels alongside these There will be NO CHARGE for Emergency Parcels. will also use this to top up the boxes , which will be made up the from neighbourly Food or product collections. items will be placed on a seperate table for people to help there selfs to. We are also provide a Hygien bank . We are also working to set up a community garden on winthorpe road we have a face book page and are in the process of planning the garden we work supporting coffee mornings through-out the district look who popped in for afternoon refreshments we gave away Jubliee sarnies scones cakes crisps biscuits and 43 food boxes and i think we might have gained a new doggy helper bless him pics uploaded

We are a community wellbeing group in Newark who are committed to supporting families and serving our local community. Due to the increasing cost of living more and more families are experiencing food poverty which we are passionate about eliminating in our local community. We have a surplus food social supermarket supporting our low income and free school meals school families daily from Monday - Friday between 7am-9am and for the local community we open on a Saturday from 6.pm. We also operate throughout the school holidays on Saturday 6pm and on Thursday mornings from 10am - this will be advertised on the group Facebook page. We accept referrals from social care, children's centre's, the Healthy Families Team and the Newark Salvation Army. Our project operates from a self contained cabin at the back of the school carpark and is run by a team of volunteers overseen by the charity Trustee's. We collect surplus food that would otherwise be going to waste from local supermarkets throughout the day and in the evenings and store this in the cabin in large catering fridges and freezers to go out the following morning. Any remaining perishable food products go out to the school community at the end of the school day reducing food waste and allowing children and families to benefit from fresh produce. We also operate a Christmas meal project, last Christmas we provided food hampers to 150 local families who were in need of support to enable them to provide their family with a Christmas dinner. Our scheme is providing a valuable and essential service to reduce food waste and eliminate food poverty, it also provides volunteering opportunities.

Framework's aim is to help homeless and vulnerable people by providing high quality housing, support, and training services. We enable people to live independent lives by offering choice and opportunity. Everything we do is centred around the needs and preferences of the people who use our service. Finding out what people need and then supporting them appropriately is at the heart of everything we do. We aim to show the people we support to know their value and to discover their own potential. Framework is funded through local authority grants, local trusts and foundations and public donations Russell House's facility provides quick access accommodation for 15 single homeless people at any one time. The service accommodates rough sleepers and other single homeless people at immediate risk of rough sleeping, including those with alcohol, drug and mental health difficulties, all of our support planning and risk assessments are tailored to meet the individuals needs. The support we provide is - To gain their own accommodation To gain employment To gain essential life skills support sessions and regular service user meetings. Advice, guidance and signposting for any other identified support needs or barriers to independent living At Russell house our service users take park in skills plus which is a weekly session to learn life skills . We also run activity nights a trips out some of the most recent are listed below. cinema , bowling , pizza and football night , games night with monopoly and Nintendo switch.
