Provision of services, human resources, help & advice to those in need in the local area and further afield, of any age or background. We are currently running a project called Re:Store; a community cafe and food service where anyone in the local area can come for a drink and a chat before accessing our food service. Entry to the food service costs £2, and allows people to collect short dated food, which would otherwise be wasted, and use it to feed their families. So as well as combatting food waste, we are helping families in need and providing an opportunity for them to meet up with others over a free coffee. Entry to Re:Store is open to anyone living in an S18 postcode. There is a waiting list for the food service but the cafe can be used by anyone.

Living Hope Food Bank

Living Hope Food Bank is based in Holmewood . We saw the need in 2011 and started giving out a few food hampers. It soon escalated as the need around us grew, and we now give out approximately 40/50 hampers in Holmewood on a weekly basis. We run a small Charity Shop in Holmewood to support the project. We are all volunteers so there are no salaried workers. Every donation is gratefully received and goes to homes where there are real needs. We have professionals such as C.A.B., Social Services, Mat workers, Drs. Surgeries. Social Services, and many more referring people to us. We open on Wednesdays from 12 to 1.30pm but run a 24/7 emergency service where people can contact us and we will see that they receive help.

Chesterfield Foodbank

We provide three days’ worth of emergency food and essentials to local people in crisis who are facing poverty. We also operate a signposting service where we provide information to our clients about local organisations, funds and services which can help address the underlying cause of the hardship to help them overcome the crises they face. We are open Mon – Fri, have five distribution centres and operate six sessions. We don’t believe that anyone in the community should face going hungry and are working to end the need for food banks.
