The Llanddulas Youth Club was registered as a charity on 29th August 1968, the number is 524032. The club has gone through many changes over that time is now part of the larger Llanddulas Youth and Community Centre. It is kept well maintained by a dedicated group of local residents and regular users. We have some excellent facilities to offer, so why not book an event with us? We also have lots of regular classes and events taking place. We also have a Food Share Scheme running from the Club.

In response to the current cost of living crisis and in view of the isolation and loneliness many people face particularly during the winter, the volunteer team were inspired to offer a free, warm, safe space along with light lunches and drinks free to all. How this all came about, an existing team of dedicated volunteers have for several years provided a monthly coffee morning and in the winter months soup and cake in the Church Institute to the community of HENLLAN. The aim was for the community to come together and socialise. The volunteers felt they needed to further develop this idea due to the lack of registered warm Space in the surrounding Area. This would give a chance for people to come together to chat, socialise, play games and bring their laptop to work and the free WI-FI, it would offer a warm space where you can enjoy freshly prepared soup, light meals and an endless supply of hot drinks in a friendly atmosphere and all for free. The take up of this provision has exceeded our expectations with a 112 meal provided in the first month of January. It has been heart-warming for the team to take a moment during the busy day to listen to the chatter, to watch as people move around to catch up with friends and neighbours, to see games of dominoes being played and to hear the positive feedback. tithe provision is registered as a Warm Space for all on the local authority warm welcome website and is advertised well on social media. We hope through the Neighbourly Initiative to be able to prepare most of these meals certainly the soups from surplus fresh food available from local supermarkets. We have had financial support from an ancient parochial charity to pay for the heating, and from the Round Table and Community Council to cover other overheads for the institute. We plan to offer this warm Space for the foreseeable future.

This Community Fridge is sited within the recently renovated St Asaph Parish Church. The ancient building was modernised and adapted for community use as well as for Christian worship in 2020. The new kitchen is registered as a business with Denbighshire County Council and managed by a catering team, led by Mrs E Grosvenor. The Parish Church has a Silver Eco-church award and so a community fridge is a logical extension of our work to protect the environment, by reducing the quantity of food waste going to landfill in our area. In 2024, we saved 16 tonnes of food from landfill and its consequent adverse CO2 impact on the environment. At the same time, we help our families and individuals to mitigate the impact of the rising cost of living. Food is given out freely but of course, we are grateful for any donations offered. After a free raffle each Sunday, users of "the fridge" are able to enjoy a hot drink and toast while they wait their turn to choose supplies. The "Fridge" is open to all, no referrals or tokens are required. However, we do try to ensure chilled food quantities are given in proportion to the numbers and ages of those in each household. An offshoot of the Fridge is a weekly 2 course meal during the winter months , open to all. The weekly attendance over last 6 months has been around 35 and is established and welcomed as a beneficial community social event. We are currently supported by Denbighshire County Council and COCOG with an 80KG subscription weekly to Fareshare which is invaluable and expires in September 2025. Come and join us as a driving food collector, a Sunday volunteer or as a member of the catering team. Training is provided!
