Foodsave Hemyock is a is community fridge and freezer covering Hemyock, Clayhidon and the surrounding areas in Mid Devon. We work to ensure no useable food is put to waste within our local community, ensuring that those around us receive high-quality, free food without the stigma of referrals, quotas or financial questionnaires. Since opening in January 2023, we have grown to support nearly a hundred households across the village every week. We operate as a branch of Foodsave CIC, a not-for-profit food redistribution service operating community food parcel services, community larders and community fridges and freezers across the South West. Foodsave is one of the largest redistributors of surplus food outside of major cities in the South West, facilitating communities to create food waste reduction schemes tailored to their communities. Foodsave Hemyock is based in The Blackdown Healthy Living and Activity Centre, Riverside, Hemyock, Devon EX15 3SH. Foodsave Hemyock's opening times are: MONDAYS: 9:00-15:00 TUESDAYS: 9:00-13:00 WEDNESDAYS: 9:00-13:00 THURSDAYS: 9:00-15:00 FRIDAYS: 9:00-13:00 SATURDAYS: 12:00-13:00 SUNDAYS: 12:00-13:00 The fridge is also open on ad-hoc evenings based on food and volunteer availability. A weekday drop-in support centre for rough sleepers in Taunton and surrounding areas, offering cooked meals, showers, laundry, clothing, and access to support services and partner agencies. Open weekdays excluding bank holidays.

We are a locally volunteer run Community Fridge - we reduce waste by collecting food from local shops and putting them in the fridge daily for the residents to collect and use.
