How it works

Here's how businesses create local impact through Neighbourly.

Through Neighbourly, Sainsbury's has donated surplus food, money and products, turning business resources into meaningful community impact.

  1. 1

    A business gives

Through Neighbourly, businesses donate resources to local good causes.

  2. 2

A local good cause puts it to use

Support goes directly to charities and community organisations, helping them free up time and resources to focus on what matters most.

  3. 3

People get the support they need

Whether it's a hot meal, essential products, a safe place to meet or someone to talk to, support reaches people in ways that make a real difference.

  4. 4

    Every contribution counts

Together, these contributions create real, measurable impact in local communities. That's social value in action.

To provide information, advice, support & services of the highest standard to those experiencing severe mental illness, their families & carers, in areas such as housing, education & training, rehabilitation & employment and recreation. to spread understanding about severe mental illness. to campaign nationally & locally for high quality care, including both acute & long-term services. In Somerset we provide supported accommodation to individuals with varying degree of mental health issues. People that use are service tend to come to us having previously been homeless and are not set up on the benefits system correctly so have no income. We provide support to better peoples skills so they are better prepared for living independently in the future. We would benefit from donations that would contribute towards our planned cooking groups where we teach our tenants to live healthier lifestyles on a budget.

YMCA Taunton

Taunton, UK

YMCA Taunton is part of the largest and oldest charity working with young people in the world. We want to: Invest in young people to help them reach their full potential, by providing for all ages including Youth Services, Ofsted approved pre-school education, sport and other activity. Strengthen families; be at the heart of the local community, supporting the whole community; providing a safe supportive environment for all. Encourage health and wellbeing for all, through activity and sport. Respond effectively to the needs of the most vulnerable children, young people and families; through youth activities, advice and guidance. Work closely with parents and partner organisations. Fulfil our Christian mission by bringing peace, justice and hope to broken lives. To create supportive, inclusive and energising communities where young people belong. We have currently been working with our young people on a fruitful communities project to start with our outdoor area. We aim to have a tidy space that the young people can have a sense of pride, belonging and take ownership of their achievements. To designate their area and improve health and safety we would like to add a small perimeter fence. This project will give the young people involved opportunity of learning many new skills including construction, landscaping, creativity, risk assessing and working as part of a team. We continue to work with the young people on the importance of maintaining the area.
