How it works

Here's how businesses create local impact through Neighbourly.

Through Neighbourly, Sainsbury's has donated surplus food, money and products, turning business resources into meaningful community impact.

  1. 1

    A business gives

Through Neighbourly, businesses donate resources to local good causes.

  2. 2

A local good cause puts it to use

Support goes directly to charities and community organisations, helping them free up time and resources to focus on what matters most.

  3. 3

People get the support they need

Whether it's a hot meal, essential products, a safe place to meet or someone to talk to, support reaches people in ways that make a real difference.

  4. 4

    Every contribution counts

Together, these contributions create real, measurable impact in local communities. That's social value in action.

Howbury Friends

Erith, UK

At the moment during the Covid Pandemic we are running a food bank for people in Bexley Borough. We do not ask for vouchers as we find that demeaning and everyone should be entitled to food. We are asking for help with donations to the food bank either monetary or in food. We are also looking to help out with Christmas Hampers these will include a Turkey, vegetables and other Christmas items. We are looking for a company to help us deliver this project. Howbury Friends runs a multitude of projects but our aim for this project is in 3 parts: 1) To collect food surplus and create menus and cookery activities for all ages in the community and to distribute any unused food out to the community. 2) To provide educational activities for all ages, with a safe environment and achievable outcomes such as cookery projects, arts and crafts etc. 3) To support families and adults to help them get back into education, stay in mainstream school or get employment or further education,

Mayplace Primary School

Bexleyheath, UK

We have fabulous ground in our school which include a recently recovered polytunnel. There is space outside which could be repurposed in an allotment style so the children could grow fruit and vegetables to support our Foodbank and create recipes at home using the produce they have grown. At the moment the whole area needs attention, building raised beds, creating spaces to grow, creating a compost heap. It is a blank canvas and we would love to make it reach its full potential. We also run a well supported and much needed foodbank, with over 600 children in the school including our provision children there is always someone who needs help.
