Saving Souls is an all inclusive hub which focuses on the wellbeing and prevention of mental health issues using sports and a safe space in person/online forum as vehicle to reduce loneliness, isolation and violence. We also run a weekly community foodbank.

REHOBOTH COMMUNITY OUTREACH CLUB located 1-18 Allwood Close, Sydenham SE26 4JP is a charity and it has been entered onto the Register of Charities with the Registered Charity Number 1168822. Rehoboth Community Outreach club started reaching out to vulnerable families in 2013, offering befriending, parenting & life skills training. Over time the services evolved expanding to offer mentoring to young people, employment skills training and a food bank. In March 2014 Rehoboth started receiving requests for support with addressing the increasing issue of food poverty amongst the single homeless living in hostels and the local street homeless, this saw the launch of the Community Lunch Club. Initially the lunch club was feeding 20 people every Monday with a 2 course hot meal. But this number quickly grew to 150 people a week when Rehoboth partnered with Miriam Lodge providing meals to their most vulnerable homeless residents. The partnership has expanded and Rehoboth community outreach club “The Lunch Club” now deliver 200 meals every Monday across 2 hostels. In addition, we have some homeless people living locally in the community who walk-in and collect their meals. The feeding programme also provides a soup social, with home cooked vegetable and chicken soup with rolls to the residents in the hostels on a Friday. The generosity of our local donors business and others in neighbouring community, with financial donations from the church membership and individuals, make it possible to provide our services free to vulnerable individuals and families. The community outreach service is facilitated by a team of 25 volunteers who cook, serve food, clean, deliver the meals, and provide the befriending, mentoring and training activities. Rehoboth hopes to double its feeding programme to 300 meals a week by the end of 2018; to support at least 50 homeless people to capacity build their employment and life skills, enhancing their potential of accessing employment, education and training opportunities. The Rehoboth Community Outreach Club aims are to contribute to breaking the generational cycle of poverty and deprivation within families, inspire hope & healing in the heart and soul of vulnerable individuals and communities and encourage peace, unity and respect across generations. We seek and appreciate further financial, time and resource donations that enable us to meet our vision of UK communities free from food poverty and benefiting from sustained upward social and economic mobility for everyone. I have been working in the community for about 13-14 years now in various capacities; writing and delivering programmes, mentoring as well as education consultation. Since the turn of the year, I have been community with hostel managers, youth practitioners, staff members, key workers and owner and director to some of the buildings, HMO's and various other premises about how the cost of living as effected a lot of young people living in these hostel and units. Subsequently, I decided to go around to several food banks and any organisation within the community that can provide food to young people in hostels. Aftet collecting as much food as I could. I packed as many rate and oxes equally and then began to deliver the community those in need. I started of by j delivering to about 5-7 young people now the database as grown to about 30-40 request each week. As a result, I was advised by my local authorities to go and set up a charity as I now deliver to not just young people hostels but (mother and bay units, ex-offenders, substance abuse an d anyone that cannot travel due to various reasons or disabilities) . Surprisingly, our database grows each week resulted in meeting with the trusties to the charity to ensure that all tmwe are doing is official. know what as made what we plan to continue to do so successful so far is the fact that I am able to deliver to food parcel to the people that cant travel for whatever reasons or people with disabilities. I also collect reduce food products from supermarkets and superstores 3-4 nights a week and share them between two hostels each night throughout the week. We will be apply for small charity grants in the future from some local authorities and other organisation that fund small charity just for support on thing like hopefully a larger storage, things that are in demand that are not donated to us such as (nappies and pampers), toiletries a bigger freezer and (electric and fuel). I have recieved such a positive feedback from managers, staffs, social workers key workers and owner and directors about the services and providing being able to bring the food parcels to individuals and to each hostels, mother and baby units, hmo's, ex-offenders hostels, substance abuse premises and to anyone in the community that made a request that cannot travel due to various reasons or disabilities, hence why the demand is growing each week. I know our charity as the right intention to continue serve the community and I think the services we provide the young people, and adults in these various settings is very much need by the feedback and the rapidly growing database of people requested food parcels deliveries. Our charity are dedicated to achieving our aims and objective to serve the community and wider community because we believe "we are the people we are help".
