Braunstone Town Community Fridge is a new project set up, with the support of the Local Council, to reduce food waste whilst bringing the community together during difficult times. The Community Fridge is looking for cupboard essentials such as tinned items, eggs, fruit and veg, frozen items and non-perishable products for the time being, whilst looking into expanding into meat, fish and poultry. As well as food items, toiletries, pet food and day to day household items are also being accepted. The surplus items will be available for the everyone in the community to access, free of charge and no referral is needed. The fridge will launch on Tuesday 2 May between 2pm and 3.30pm. These opening hours will be the same moving forward every Tuesday.
