Leapgate Activity Centre provides daytime activities for adults and children with learning disabilities. Based on a working farm the Centre is able to provide access to animal care, horticulture, craft, woodwork, fitness,leisure and social activities. At the heart of the facility is the Cafe where attendees learn to cook and serve snacks to other attendees in a working cafe environment. The Centre aims to enrich the lives of those attending by improving well being, self esteem and health within a fun and safe environment. The Centre is grateful for all donations of food, gardening supplies and craft/woodwork equipment and consumables to maintain provision for this vulnerable section of our community. Moving Forward Community Fridge is a community initiative that helps people access free, good-quality food while reducing food waste. We collect surplus food from local businesses, organisations, and members of the community and make it available to anyone who needs it. We aim to support individuals and families facing financial difficulties, bring people together, and build a stronger, more caring community. What we do 🥦 Redistribute surplus food that would otherwise be thrown away. 🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Support local people and families who may be struggling with the cost of living. ♻️ Reduce food waste by giving edible food a second use. ❤️ Create a welcoming, non-judgmental space where everyone can access food with dignity. 🤝 Work with local organisations, businesses and volunteers to strengthen community support. 📦Share essential food items and donations when available.

We are a charity that provides supported housing in self-contained flats for parents with young children as a temporary placement, to build well-being, confidence and practical life skills. Supported housing is offered on a case by case basis following a referral and assessment for parents in need including: - young people with a support need - people with mental ill health - people fleeing domestic abuse and their children families at risk of or who have experienced homelessness We offer: - a safe harbour enabling people to thrive - a community and family to experience healthy relationships and care - support and training opportunities to build confidence in independent living We currently have 5 two bedroom and 4 one bedroom fully equipped self-contained flats. There are communal rooms and outdoor areas including a laundry room, IT room, playroom, children's playground, covered outdoor area to hang washing, peaceful garden area and pet corner. A mini farm, allotments and nature trail are being developed and residents are encouraged to get involved. There is a training kitchen and dining area for structured sessions or organised communal activities.
