How it works

Here's how businesses create local impact through Neighbourly.

Through Neighbourly, Lidl has donated surplus food and products, turning business resources into meaningful community impact.

  1. 1

    A business gives

Through Neighbourly, businesses donate resources to local good causes.

  2. 2

A local good cause puts it to use

Support goes directly to charities and community organisations, helping them free up time and resources to focus on what matters most.

  3. 3

People get the support they need

Whether it's a hot meal, essential products, a safe place to meet or someone to talk to, support reaches people in ways that make a real difference.

  4. 4

    Every contribution counts

Together, these contributions create real, measurable impact in local communities. That's social value in action.

Best Before Food Store/Wellington Pantry

Wellington, UK

The Best Before Food Store/Wellington Pantry was established in September 2022 in response to the impact of the cost of living crisis. A community project developed with Somerset West and Taunton Local Pantry Schemes. Registered as a Community interest Company (CIC) and operating as a 'not for profit' company we have establish ourselves in the heart of the Community in Rockwell Green. Run entirely by volunteers (approximately 28) we are currently supporting 35 families. Operating every Tuesday between 3-5p.m. the BBFS offers a community space with free tea/coffee and biscuits alongside craft activities, cookery lessons and demonstrations and a supported children's area. Supported by Fareshare, the UK’s national network of charitable food redistributors, made up of 18 independent organisations (taking good quality surplus food from right across the food industry and get it to nearly 8,000 frontline charities and community groups) and Customer Food Donations from Asda Wellington. Our members pay a £4 weekly *membership fee, and are able to select items across Chilled, Ambient and Fresh categories typically saving between £20 - £30 per week versus retail prices. (* Membership fee enables the BBFS to obtain food from Fareshare).

Arc formerly Taunton Association for the Homeless (TAH)

Taunton, UK

1 in 6 people in the UK will spend at least one night homeless. But we know that, given the right help, even the most vulnerable in our society can recover from the issues that have resulted in their homelessness. Every year, as a result of our support, hundreds of people are able to take on and maintain their own tenancies and become valuable members of our communities.
