It works with a range of groups of people representing diverse ethnic backgrounds using the environment as the focus for its activities. Established in 2013; it has built up a wide client group and set of skills and knowledge on environmental issues like recycling, energy efficiency and urban agriculture etc. It is in a position to offer a wide range of services in addition to training, incorporating consultancy on environmental issues and access to minority/ethnic groups for user response and feedback. In October 2019, founder of Bameen was recognized and awarded an MBE for leading Bameen to work on a range of programmes to support the Black and Minority ethnic community in Hull and East Riding ,including promoting recycling, energy saving, local food production and environmental educational training programmes.
