Universities of the Third Age (U3A) are democratic, self-funding, mutual self-help and support organisations. There are over 1000 U3As in the UK and that number is increasing all the time. There are no age limits - the membership is for anyone who is moving from, or has already moved from, full-time occupation (family or work). Members provide all types of educational, creative and leisure activities for themselves and their fellow members, with opportunities to learn and have fun in all activities. This is done at minimum cost by making use of the knowledge, skills and time of the members, freely given, with an emphasis on participation. The Llandudno Area U3A is a U3A in the County of Conwy. Our members are drawn from Llandudno, Colwyn Bay, Conwy and the surrounding areas. Our primary activity is learning-based, to support and develop the range of interest groups run by and for members.
