Berks, Bucks & Oxon Wildlife Trust
Oxford, UK
For 60 years the Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wildlife Trust (BBOWT) has been working to protect wildlife and help it thrive across Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire. The only voluntary organisation concerned with all aspects of nature conservation in Berks, Bucks and Oxon, we care for 87 nature reserves that are safe havens for rare and endangered species and habitats. Across our reserves we manage a total of over 2,500 hectares of land, and we manage 10% of the remaining floodplain meadows (MG4) in the UK. We encourage all sectors of the community to learn about and care for our natural heritage, with over 12,000 school children visiting our five Environmental Education Centres each year, and a wide range of educational projects undertaken to help inspire the next generations to care for wildlife.
