About Somerset Wildlife Trust Somerset Wildlife Trust has been protecting vulnerable wildlife and preserving Somerset’s wild places for 60 years, working throughout Somerset to ensure this beautiful county remains one of the most habitat-diverse and wildlife-rich counties in Britain. We manage 1,700 hectares of land as protected nature reserves within Somerset stretching from the Mendips and Polden Hills through the Avalon Marshes to the Blackdown Hills and Quantocks on the edge of Exmoor National Park. Our work is supported by over 23,000 members, hundreds of volunteers and many others in Somerset. We work with like-minded organisations, landowners and businesses to protect and connect wildlife sites across the county and inspire local communities and individuals to care for the natural world on their doorstep, with huge benefits to both people and our natural world from connecting with and protecting our local environment. Funding towards our core activities is always extremely welcome and we have a number of projects that benefit both nature and local communities that need support.
