Northumberland Wildlife Trust
Newcastle upon Tyne, UK
Northumberland Wildlife Trust is a charity dedicated to saving wildlife and wild places and helping people to get closer to nature. We are one of 46 Wildlife Trusts, a grassroots movement working across the UK to make life better – for wildlife, for people and for future generations. Our Mission We believe the North East should be rich in wildlife for the benefit of everyone. Nature is central to our own health, happiness and economic prosperity so it needs to be at the heart of everything we do. This region needs more wildlife on land and sea. We help to create and protect wildlife-rich landscapes and seas by working in partnership with landowners, local authorities, businesses and communities; by maintaining over 60 nature reserves and delivering projects to help wildlife; and by defending wildlife when it comes under threat from development and harmful policies. We aim to create a society where nature matters - where people understand the value of nature and take action for it. To do this, we educate and inspire thousands of people every year, reconnecting them with their local environment through our visitor centres, events, campaigns and engagement programmes.
