Queenswood is Herefordshire’s most popular outdoor visitor destination and receives over 200,000 visitations per year. Its central area hosts a café, visitor centre and children’s play park within a large area of Arboretum and SSSI woodland. It is run by a partnership between the Herefordshire Wildlife Trust and New Leaf Sustainable Development. Our joint vision is for the site to showcase a range of sustainability and conservation initiatives in practice and become a demonstrator for a sustainable Herefordshire. The Jubilee building at Queenswood is being transformed into a new, part time hub which will be an information and educational resource, highlighting global sustainability issues and showcasing local ideas and solutions to the climate and ecological crisis. Themed exhibitions, literature, films and workshops will highlight different areas of sustainable development, sharing information and creating conversations about what we can do locally.
