We provide an opportunity for young people, male and female, from 14 to 18yrs, to carry out Scouting activities in a safe environment. The young people work towards awards by ongoing development of personal skills and community service. We are now a unit of 28 young people and we aim to accommodate young people, of all faiths, ethnicities and physical/mental abilities. Unlike many Units, we are not supported by a Church, School, Club etc and must provide our own funding for equipment and activities. We encourage our young people to become volunteer assistants within the community, at Scout Groups, Schools etc. We accept our young people from a number of local Scout Troops that do not have Explorer Units as well as those new to Scouting.
