We are Scouts from Isle of Dogs and we are taking part in lots of local environmental projects. We take part in litter picks in our area, clean ups of Thames shore and alongside of canals in East London. We adopted 3 miles of Limehouse Cut from Limehouse Marina to Bow locks and we are looking after that part on weekly bases. Every Thursday we have session called Littering Thursdays from 5-6pm when we chose the area and do "before and after" photo. How many Thursday - that many cleaned and renewed corners on Isle of Dogs. Few years ago we took on us project "100 bags a month" and removed total of 1143 bags of litter from our community in one school year, Sept till July. We also believe in impact we can make in other parts of the world, so we support Bookbridge. In last 8 years we have collected thousands of books and sent abroad. We have 28 libraries open and running in Mongolia, Cambodia and Sri Lanka and in each one of them many children and adults have benefits on daily bases. Every young person who takes part in those projects become Active Citizen and get awarded personalised group hoodie and deserve the right to go to to fun activities and camps. As part of Scouting life we are doing lots of camps and outings and prepare young people with Skills for life.
