Upton Hall School has a keen and enthusiastic group of young environmentalists who have helped set up recycling schemes, organised clean ups, Earth Days and contributed to the Wirral School Single Use Plastic Campaign and the filming of the Last Straw (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cpLgTtKCcB8&t=46s). The group comprises a mix of all year groups. Upton Hall has an apple orchard with 23 different varieties of tree. So every year pupils harvest the apples which are then pasteurized and sold at school events and local farm shops. There are plans to build bee hives and start honey production too. Upton Hall has a small eco garden with three raised beds and a greenhouse. The area needs constant attention and pupils spend lunchtimes digging, weeding and planting. We have more plans to improve the school eco garden. The group is also planning more clean up's at local beaches and country parks and to extend it's recycling scheme.
