The Lancashire Wildlife Trust
Warrington, UK
Lancashire Wildlife Trust is the lead partner of the Carbon Landscape Partnership. We are working with Friends groups throughout the Great Manchester Wetlands Area (Wigan, Salford and the Mersey Corridor in Warrington) to improve wildlife habitats. For the past 14 months we have been working with communities on the Westy Estate in Latchford Warrington, WA4 1TA to see how we can improve their greenspaces. Littering is a particular problem especially in sensitive wildlife habitats. The site is next to the internationally important wetland site Woolston Eyes Nature Reserve and we want wildlife to have a safe place to pass through. Through Neighbourly support we will arrange community litter picks and support "Landscape Champions" to raise the profile of the area. As the area improves we will support community groups and local schools to get out and about.
