The Wildlife Trust Of South And West Wales
Cilgerran, UK
The Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales works to protect all forms of wildlife and its habitats on its nature reserves and in the wider countryside, working at local and national level. The Welsh Wildlife Centre, in Cilgerran near Cardigan is an extremely popular nature reserve with a mosaic of habitats, that are SSSI, NNR and SAC protected. There are trails and hides for the public to get close to nature and the River Teifi and Piliau flow through the reserve, providing a home for a huge variety of wildlife.. It also houses the fantastic Glasshouse cafe serving home made dishes to suit all dietary requirements and shop which sells products to raise money for the charity alongside many items from local artists and crafts people. The project aims to conduct an environmental clean up event around the river Teifi, involving as many local people as possible. This will help to maintain the valuable habitat for people and wildlife to enjoy.
