Clevedon square Allotment
Cheltenham, UK
A community project to build an allotment in an empty bit of land that was run down and over grown with weeds. It was a thriving allotment 6 years ago and I am very interested to revive it. Residents in our houses have already been contacted and are looking forward to it. The space will also be used by * produce will be giving to volunteers who help and get involved *teaching parents and young children where foods grow and what to make with produce *helps your mental health by concentrating on what your doin and learning new things. We will involve both adults and children, showing that food does not just come from the supermarkets but that you can grow it fresh and fertiliser free in your garden. I have already transformed our vacant communal site into a green space with beautiful plants and flowers. I am very eager to start helping/ educating people, who do not know how to grow fresh food once per week, hosting a little gardening club for the residents in our houses. We will be planting fruits and vegetables and give the opportunity to people, who cannot afford them, to plant and harvest them. The money will be used to: * buy a ton of compost,to buy watering cans, netting, water butts, lawnmower, scaffolding boards, wood etc., to * * build a potting shed * wood for raised beds, bamboo sticks * seeds * plant feeding products * build a green house
