We offer a number of wellbeing services, such as free therapy, information and support to anyone affected by childhood trauma or abuse, and those affected by cancer. With these wellbeing aims in mind we have also established our Share Alike project. This is open to all in our community for free, supporting anyone in need by offering a community wardrobe, community fridge, free brunch club and a food bank. Within and outside our normal office hours we also help in emergencies for local families directly and via referrals from different types of organisations, such as women's aid. We give families immediate assistance with free food and clothing, and help via our donations to help them reestablish a home after fleeing or losing theirs. All our staff are volunteers and offer some classes and services to the general public for a small donation. This means we both keep SAVI Kids open for those who need help after childhood trama and abuse, while making alternative health/support services more accessible to all.

Our school is a Roman Catholic Secondary School for children and young people from 11 – 18. In Saint Paul’s we aim to nurture your child to become the fully rounded individual they have the potential to be. Our aim is to prepare our children and young people for their future: academically, spiritually, emotionally, physically and socially. The uniqueness of every young person is celebrated in Saint Paul’s R.C. High; our curriculum offers a rich and engaging range of activities that meet all the different learning styles and interests. We teach the importance of respect for each other, the value of difference and the skills of working together. As a school we recognise the importance of a strong partnership with parents and carers. We enjoy strong relationships with our parents and we are always working to develop this further.

The Developing the Young Workforce Team within Cathkin High School would like to create small shop within our school run by our pupils and we would like surplus food and product donations for this. The School shop is an opportunity for ASN learners who may struggle to engage in external work experience placements and build meta skills, practical skills, confidence to support their journey to attaining a positive destination post school. We also want to build links with our parents and wider community. We would also make sure if any families in our school community was in need of any food donations, they would be our priority. While we would not charge for the items kindly donated to us, we would support the local food bank with a financial donation from any monies raised through pupils, staff and parents making donations of cash when they collect the donated food / items. The local food bank support a number of our families so this is a way for our school community to ’chuck it in a bucket’ financial food bank donation - give something back. This will also support the school’s equity agenda and provide opportunities for all learners to build skills for learning, life and work. This will also supports pupil voice – pupils would make the decisions about how food is displayed, shop is marketed, donations counted etc. As a school we also want to reduce the amount of food ending up in landfill, and help reduce the carbon footprint caused by all of this waste.
