[No longer active as of Dec 2020] We are a non-profit registered charity assisting older local people, providing the following services which enable them to stay in their own homes: - cleaning - shopping - social visits - garden maintenance - drivers & escorts for hospital visits - cooking or helping to cook meals - help to get out and about We help carers and give them a well-deserved break by providing cover in the home and support the running of a local Dementia Carers Group. We provide information and assistance on applying for assistance allowance, and guidance with Power of Attorney. Age Concern is a equal opportunity local employer which employs 45 people. To maintain all of the above services and no funding we need to continually raise money through donations, fundraising, help from local businesses and the community. We are therefore reaching out to ask for help to bring a little happiness to some lonely people.
