The Jubilee Community Trust is a not for profit organisation based at Maes y Coed Community Centre. We formed in 2011 to bring the community together to support each other, using the community centre as a base - we are due to become responsible for the building from 1st April 2015. £1,500 will ensure that we have enough cash flow leading up to the transfer and during the first few weeks of operating. Volunteers will help us to run the centre on a day to day basis, so that we are open as many hours as possible. We will use volunteer days to decorate the centre. We reach out to the elderly population, parents and toddlers, disenchanted youths - everyone. We listen to the community and assist them in forming and running the groups and support that they feel will help them most. Our overarching aim is to include everyone, to improve their health and well-being through community involvement and mutual support, to encourage learning and skills development through doing.
