Elm Tree Farm Recycling Area
Bristol, UK
Elm Tree Farm is a care farm that enables people with learning disabilities and autism to learn new skills, improve their physical and mental health, make new friends, and have lots of fun while doing so. Based in Stapleton, Bristol, Elm Tree Farm provides training and support to more than 75 adults with learning disabilities and autism. Trainees at Elm Tree Farm participate in vocational training in animal husbandry (managing our livestock, our small animals, and our poultry), growing organic food, managing our ornamental garden and learning how to upcycle homeware for resale. We have a Farmshop and local market stalls so people get a genuine work experience working for a real business that reinvests into their care. Trainees in our wood work shop want to build a farm recycling area. This will provide people with learning disabilities to improve their design and building skills. The Recycling Area will also educate our 75 trainees on how to recycle and the necessity to recycle. Funding will provide support to our trainees to build the recycling area and purchase any materials they need.
